DUTCH CATERING
No Russian salads, salmon rolls or caprese skewers. Hete Peper Catering from Amsterdam offers catering with a bite, going beyond the food industry to create the most surprising and innovative concepts. They translate trends in fashion, design, tech and health into remarkable event catering concepts. Their secret ingredients? Craftsmanship and creativity. And brainstorming with the entire team as well as performers, artists and fashion designers.
CONSCIOUS CATERING
Catering company Gaumen Freundinnen from Vienna has been offering high-quality, sustainable and 100% vegetarian catering since 2014. Co-founder Margherita Putze tells us that demand has been increasing every year and a growing number of clients is looking for a sustainable caterer. 80% Of their client-base currently consists of institutions and businesses while 20% comes from the private sector.
NARRATIVE CATERING
Manal Kahi left the dangers of Lebanon and came to New York in 2013. She prepared her family recipe for hummus for friends and family. This turned out to be a huge success. She and her brother decided to find other refugees who want to prepare and share recipes from their home countries. This was the start of Eat Offbeat. Eat Offbeat wants to use the course and the preparation of authentic dishes to show how valuable these groups of people really are to a community. From their website: 'Each dish tells a tale of home. Take the trip. Leave the wrap.'
CAMERA CATERING
‘The camera eats first’ is Cured Catering’s creed. This catering company from Toronto loads gigantic platters with charcuterie, cheese, sweets, desserts, fruit and vegetables. The bright colors, various textures and most importantly, lots of food, make their platters highly instagrammable. It remains to be seen whether they are observing no waste and sustainability principles, but one thing is for sure: it looks great on Instagram, #nofilter.
